HRSG Chemical Cleaning

Our Technical Approach

Manufacturing and construction residues before commissioning and deposits during operation require different cleaning approaches. We assess cleaning boundaries, system metallurgy and customer, EPC or OEM procedures to plan project-specific field work.

  • Combined cycle plants
  • Heat recovery steam generators
  • Pre-commissioning
  • Maintenance cleaning

Service Scope

  • Identify cleaning circuits and temporary connections using P&IDs.
  • Carry out alkaline washing, chemical circulation and flushing where required by the procedure.
  • Track application parameters through field checks and chemical analysis.
  • Perform rinsing, neutralization and passivation according to the approved procedure.

International Mobilization for HRSG Projects

For HRSG chemical cleaning projects, we mobilize our own circulation pumps and application equipment to sites in Türkiye and internationally. Equipment shipment and site setup are planned around the project schedule and local logistics requirements.

Our Equipment and Mobilization Approach

Two Different Cleaning Requirements

Before Commissioning

Assess oils, loose residues and surface oxides associated with fabrication, installation and storage. Plan required flushing, degreasing and chemical stages according to manufacturer requirements and the approved procedure.

During Maintenance

Assess deposits, operating history and available inspections together. Cleaning requirements and methods depend on system condition rather than a fixed operating-time interval.

How Is the Need for Cleaning Assessed?

Consider available site inspections, operating and water-chemistry records, previous cleaning information and any tube samples or deposit analyses. Deposit loading and composition provide technical input to cleaning decisions, particularly for high-pressure evaporators. Sampling and assessment scope follows facility and manufacturer requirements.

Which Circuits Are Cleaned?

Determine whether economizers, evaporators, drums and connected circuits are included by reviewing P&IDs and manufacturer procedures. Assess HP, IP and LP materials and connections separately. Other circuits, such as superheaters and reheaters, are addressed only within the defined project scope and procedure.
